Graphic proposal for Bertso Derbia, an event organized by the Real Fundazioa association that aims to bring together, in a friendly and creative way, bertsolaris from Athletic Club and Real Sociedad around each Basque derby.
The goal of the design was to maintain a contemporary style that is visually appealing to a young audience, without losing sight of the event’s cultural and traditional roots. The challenge was to find a balance between the modern and the symbolic, between the excitement of sports and the depth of bertso, all under a unified visual language.
The proposal is inspired by Kandinsky’s approach to expressive abstraction, whose forms and compositions symbolically represent the union of two opposing realities: two clubs, two colors, two fan bases. This abstract language is ideal for conveying the harmony that emerges when competition is set aside in favor of understanding, creativity, and mutual respect.
